Myself and 2 adult sons have just spent 3 days walking and 2 evenings staying at The Schoolhouse. We were made to feel important and most welcome arriving very wet following a long rain swept day on
the fells. Our wet boots and outer clothing were quickly taken from us and placed in the drying room. We were shown our rooms and guest lounge all of which were immaculate and comfortable. Both Lin
and Graham were cheerful and welcoming throughout making us feel at ease and relaxed in our surroundings. Both will go out of there way to ensure everything you require is to hand from booking a
table in the local pub to having a first class range of umbrellas for guests use.
We will be back in Sep 16,
Spent last 3 days walking in the Lakes and staying with Lin and Graham. Myself and 2 adult sons were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrive very wet following a windy and rainy day on High
Street. Our wet boots and outer clothing were quickly taken from us and placed in the drying room. Our rooms along with bathrooms and lounge were very clean and comfortable and Graham's breakfast
first class. Both were first class hosts who looked after us exceptionally well. For wet conditions Lin and Graham are well stocked with umbrellas and can make use of a local supplier if
required.
A lovely visit.
We stayed with Linda and Graham this summer, while we walked (a part) of the C2C. In one word, our stay was "Flawless". Friendly couple, perfect room, delicious breakfast, nice town.
Stayed here on the Coast to Coast in Sept 2013. Fantastic stay one of the best. Arrived exhausted and Grahame booked our meal at the White Lion. Breakfast was excellent with good company from other
guests. You will be made very welcome
We stayed at the School House in Patterdale as a couple in June 2013. There is ample free parking outside the guest house and the location is delightful, with wonderful views of the fells and within
a couple of minutes walking distance of two pubs, each serving good food. Not that we ventured out on the evening, as ‘en suite’ to our room was an unusual and extremely charming and comfortable
private lounge with T.V. / music facilities etc, which we had exclusive use of. The lounge, to the rear of the building, has large patio doors giving access to a lovely garden and also fantastic and
intimate views of Place Fell and Boredale Hause, just a very short distance away. The owners of the guest house, Lin and Graham, are very friendly and accommodating people who went out of their way
to make us welcome and to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. They are lovely people and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. They both clearly work very hard at their business and take pride
in looking after their guests. Their pride and enthusiasm for their work is also reflected in the cleanliness of the rooms, which are all decorated to a very high standard and faultlessly clean. If
doing the Coast to Coast, Wainwright bagging or just fancy a week-end away, this is a fantastic place to stay. Oh, and we won’t say much about the bed, the likes of which you will not have seen
before, ever. We enjoyed our stay here so much that we are going back later this summer – twice!
further to my last comments, I forgot to say the location is perfect, several walks can be done from the doorstep and the coast to coast walk runs nearby the schoolhouse, 10 minutes walk to the ferry
at Glenridding and 3 minutes to the comfy White Lion for evening meals.
We stayed at Easter for 3 nights, The en suite double room has its own lounge with log burning stove, which Graham set up for us each day and even lit before we got home from our walks so it was
lovely and warm, Graham and Lin are lovely welcoming people, they go the extra step, booking tables in the comfy White lion for evening meals etc, the Indonesian love bed was extremely comfortable
and unique, we wholeheartedly recommend this B & B and will certainly be back ourselves.
What a wonderful visit !,Thank you to Lin and Graham,Great breakfast ,visited from the USA ,Stunning views from all rooms,

Have spent the most amazing weekend at the Scholl House. Lin & Graham great hosts. Stayed in the Annexe with the 'Indonesian Love bed'. The view from the full lenght window is amazing. Log fires
glowing. Didn't try the packed lunch but if Graham's breakfast was anything to go by the lunch would be well worth it.Will definately be back. Thanks for your hospitality
