Patterdale makes a fantastic base for exploring the beautiful Lake District. It is ideally located for climbing Helvellyn and the surrounding fells, and is also a stones throw from Lake Ullswater with a wide variety of activities including sailing, fishing and windsurfing, or taking a relaxing ride on the Ullswater Steamers. Our B&B is situated on the Coast to Coast walk, made famous by Alfred Wainwright.
Patterdale itself has a well-stocked village store which is open 7 days a week. Cash-back is available here, along with newspapers, hot and cold snacks, outdoor gear, souveniers, and just about all the essentials you could possibly need!
Good food is available in Patterdale from the White Lion pub, the Patterdale Hotel and the Old Water View.
Just down the road in the village of Glenridding there are 2 general stores (one with a cashpoint), a newsagent, Catsycam outdoor shop and a petrol station. Also, there is a pub, 2 hotels with bars, Fellbites Restraurant and Greystones Cafe.
